Minimum eligibility requirements

Essential functions
• Clean all community showers, toilets, sinks, countertops, and baseboards, stock with paper towels, toilet paper, soap and shampoo.
• Dust furniture in common areas.
• Clean apartments weekly to include:
o vacuuming
o dusting
o cleaning windows
o wiping down door knobs
o wiping down surfaces
o baseboards to be done monthly

• Clean apartments that have become soiled, as needed.
• Assist residents in Independent Living with laundry according to policy.
• Prepare vacant apartments to show by vacuuming, wiping down, cleaning baseboards, and dusting closet shelves.
• Clean public bathrooms: scrub toilet, sink, mirror, chrome and floors and stock with supplies.
• Clean carpets using extractor as scheduled or needed.
• Clean employee lounge.
• Wipe down chairs and table legs in dining room.
• Sweep entry ways, polish glass, wipe down doors.
• Empty trash in apartments, offices and public areas.
• Other duties as assigned

Joint decisions & duties between housekeepers and Plant Operations Director:
 Seeks guidance as needed from supervisor, licensed nurse and/or Wellness Director
 Assists with cost control by utilizing resources efficiently and in a waste free manner

Customer service
• Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers

Residents’ rights
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights

Training
• Attend training sessions as directed by supervisor.
Other
• Follows & communicate company policies and procedures
• Participate in daily standup meetings.

• Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
• May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Physical/sensory requirement
• Medium work: ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Experience extreme change in temperature at times and may be exposed to higher than normal temperatures while working.
• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents and staff.
• Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the community.

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary working environment at assigned West location; perform daily cleaning of assigned area (e.g., general office areas, break rooms, restrooms, hallways, etc.) which includes vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows, dusting, emptying trash cans, etc., in an efficient manner; maintain carpet and hard floors in addition to daily mopping and vacuuming, which includes performing regularly scheduled extraction cleaning of carpets, removing spots and stains from carpets; perform detail cleaning as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
* High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience
* Minimum 1 year custodial services experience preferred
* Minimum 1 year floor care experience preferred

Other
* Ability to lift 40 pounds
* Cleaning methods and equipment
